This fireplace has a safety pilot light kit which was still left intact for local code reasons but we did get rid of the non functioning pan burners.
Below we poured the crushed lava base up to and just covering the ring burner.
Then we poured the Bronze Rust Copper over the ring and crushed lava rock.
With the doors closed just enough as you can see now they can control the hurricane/ tornado effect!
The fireplace below has Bronze Rust Copper, Ford Blue and Yellow Amber Topper
The fire pit below belongs to Chad Haupert. He used an Azurlite base with Azurlite Reflective on top. Then he created a star in the center using Bronze Rust Copper with and outline of Ice Ice Ice. We didn't get pictures of the complete pit nor of it burning. But it looks great!
The fireplace below is from Steve Calderon and he used a Starfire base glass with Gold and Bronze Rust Copper on top.
This is from beginning to end.
Above is the before believe it or not. As you can see Steve did a terrific job. This was a wood burning fireplace before. he installed a gas line and control valve on the right side.
Below you can see the old burner which we replaced with the new double 18" burner.
Mask it, vacuum it after wire brushing the walls clean.
A bit of Thermolux 1200 degree high heat paint.
Fireplace Glass used:
Pour in a Starfire base with a splash of Gold and Bronze Rust Copper on top.
.
Then you have one nice fireplace, great job!
The fireplace below is a direct vent conversion. The most important issue to address here is to NEVER increase the amount of fuel that your fireplace was designed to burn.
We will explain as we move forward:
This is the burner in this particular direct vent fireplace.
This burner will work just fine.
Nice Logs? Isn't that the WOW! factor you were looking for?
Now we add Bronze Rust Copper base glass with Gold on top.
You tell me, which looks better?
The fireplace below is a self installation by Thom Toben of Studio T2 Designs in Kansas. & colors were installed and they are;
Clear base with Starfire base mixed together over
Medium Amber Topping
Bronze Rust Copper base glass
Black Luster Topper
Yellow Amber Topper and
Turquoise Blue Topper
You be the judge, we think it looks great!
Below the burner is installed with the flex line under the burner
Now the lava goes in and the burner is brought up to the surface
Test the burner to insure the flame don't hit the back wall.
The Clear and Starfire base glass was poured on top of the lava.
Then Thom placed all of the other selected to match the room.
The next fireplace is a propane fireplace with a
propane pan we built. The colors used were a Gray base glass, Amber base glass and Bronze Rust Copper all mixed on top.
This fireplace and pan reside in Mexico!
Below is the fireplace as it started.
As you can see below is the dog house to allow air to flow to mix fresh air with the propane.
This next fireplace is in Mammoth Lakes, California. They install a Propane pan burner and covered it with Bronze Rust Copper base glass. See the full Condo story by CLICKING HERE! Click HERE to see even more!
The next fireplace has quit a mix! Fred

Bronze Rust Copper base glass mixed in,
Gold Reflective base glass,
Azurlite base glass,
Cobalt Blue Diamonds,
Amber Diamonds,
Caribbean Blue Cubes!.
The fireplace looks outstanding! There is a glass sculpture in the center which and is amazing!
Notice the 3" tall 1/2" thick front screen at the bottom! Pretty amazing!
The fire pit below was designed and built by Tamara Lyons and her wonderful family! Junior help most. The glass that was used is:
Bronze Rust Copper base glass,
E.D. Diamonds, Red and Orange,
Amber Diamonds,
Orange R140 Topper, this particular color is one of our chameleons. It turns a bright cherry red when heated and cools back to orange when cooled!
The fire pit had three sets of burners. One in the center and one on each outer edge. This way you can control how large, how much and where you can have fire when you want it.
This is how it started
Pea gravel base
Measure once, cut twice.
Ohhh, what color?? There are sooo many. What to do????
So we sent a make up of what colors they liked. We can do this for you as well. Just tell us what colors you want and we will mix a batch and send you the pictures!
You should of seen the rest of the back yard! Who needs a house! I would live in the back.
Jim Cogan Created this next fireplace using a Bronze Rust Copper base. He installed a Ribbon Burner opposed to a regular double burner. He had us make a 1/2" piece of Starfire as a front shield to contain the glass and it served as a "draft offset" to keep the Ribbon Burner traveling straight up. Here are the before and after pictures:
